After integrating your Gainsight instance to Magnify, you can now trigger events from within your motions. Gainsight Events can be used in Programs and Rules Engines. They are most commonly used to send emails from Gainsight to end users.
Requirements
Before triggering Gainsight Events in Magnify, you will need the following details about the event you wish to trigger:
- Event Topic
- Event Name
- Event Version
- Payload Structure
In order to trigger events in Gainsight from Magnify, you must first Register as a Publisher. Once you’ve registered as a publisher, you will need to provide your sharedSecret key and tenantId with Magnify.
Trigger Events Walkthrough
- Begin by opening your motion by navigating to Motions and selecting the motion you’d like to edit or create a new motion.
- Once you’ve opened your motion, ensure that you’ve defined your segment criteria.
- With the segment criteria defined you can now begin to add Rules and Actions.
- Under Actions, select Gainsight.
- You should now see the various actions available to you through the Gainsight integration – select Trigger Event then drag and drop to where you would like the action to occur within your motion.
- With the action now part of the motion, we must define the event inputs.
- If you don’t already have the Topic, Event, Version, and Payload Structure available, navigate to Gainsight and gather this information, which can be found under Administration → Events.
- Once you have gathered the event information, navigate back to Magnify and populate the details into the form.
- For Payload Structure, you will want to copy and paste the details from Gainsight directly into the text box in Magnify, then click Load field structure.
- Upon loading the field structure you will now be able to define the dynamic inputs for those fields.
- Click the lightning bolt icon and select the associated dynamic fields.
- Click Save. At this point you can continue adding additional rules and/or actions to your motion or you can choose to execute the motion.
